Carnegie

THE PROPERTY

The Carnegie property is located in Carnegie Township, which is 2.5 km north of Xstrata’s Kidd Creek mine site, and roughly 20 km north of the City of Timmins, Ontario. Excellent road access is provided by Hwy 655, approximately 1 km from the property. Explor Resources owns 62 mineral claims covering approximately 992 hectares of land.

HISTORY AND GEOLOGICAL BACKGROUND

The property is located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, which is composed mainly of meta-volcanic rocks cut by faults and deformation zones that lie in a northwest to southeast direction. There are also many suites of mafic volcanic rocks.

The Kidd Creek mine has produced at least 130 million tonnes of base metal ore since it started production in 1966. A series of untested airborne anomalies have been observed on the property. A review of existing data has revealed a series of linear airborne anomalies with an east-west trend.
